Our proofreading course tutor, Jennie Harborth, is standing down this Friday, August 26.
Our other proofreading course tutor, Ian Campbell, will be taking over all her students.
Jennie is moving to a new role at CMP later this year.
She has been our proofreading tutor for the past three years, and has helped dozens of students gain a qualification, develop their careers and start new businesses.
Countless CMP graduates have commented on her helpful tutoring style and the way she goes the extra mile to answer their questions and help them improve.
Jennie said: 'I'm going to miss this role, as it's been so fulfilling seeing so many students learn new skills and become outstanding proofreaders and editors.'
Ian Campbell is also tutor on CMP's subediting course.
He has been involved in proofreading, editing, and checking copy throughout most of his career.
He worked as a revise editor on the Daily Post in Liverpool, checking the final page proofs, and making corrections before releasing the pages for printing.
He has also proofread publications including books, short stories and college teaching aids, and also produced a number of stand-alone publications, from what's on guides to programmes for sporting events.
These involved checking the final proofs and liaising with production staff.
As a regional daily newspaper subeditor, his duties included checking copy for factual, grammatical and punctuation errors, working to tight deadlines.
Ian said: 'Jennie will be a hard act to follow, but I am really looking forward to the challenge.'
Proofreading course students should continue submitting their assignments and queries through the OLA in the normal way.
