Your home page’s most important visitor

Google likes website home pages that change frequently. And that presents challenges for copywriters.

Some home page content isn’t that easy to change. So what do you do?

We tell students on our distance learning copywriting course to remember that home pages are more for Google’s benefit than visitors’. If Google doesn’t like them, you may not get any visitors!

That means coming up with content that can be changed, and which still does the job for visitors.

So you may have to generate news articles, press releases and other features.

Try Googling ‘home page content ideas’ … there are hundreds of ideas out there, and then it’s a case of adapting them to fit your site.
