Be sure of your facts when writing copy for experts

Copywriters must take care when they’re writing specialist content.

Experts won’t appreciate being patronised or treated as idiots. And they will expect you to know your subject.

Avoid telling experts what they already know. And make sure your facts are accurate, sourced, informed and up-to-date.

We tell students on our distance learning copywriting course not to tackle subjects they aren’t sure about. And to do plenty of research, even with subjects they’re familiar with.

Uninformed content may offset any benefits that the copy achieves, and could actually make the client look worse, not better.
